Gravity, Oh Gravity!
What you see is not always what you get.
Songs are supposed to be poetry with melody. The poetry I know is usually smothered with flowery words. I guess this is where being 'poetic' came into being.
Now here comes John Mayer, a well known and very talented musician who has been known to soothe listeners with his tunes with his Gravity. The title itself is quite funny. (for me)
Gravity. For a science-oriented student like me who hears gravity being used the way it is supposed to be used almost everyday, it is really new for it to be used in such context.
I didn't like the song at first because it sounds, pardon me for saying this, stupid. Gravity? Maybe John Mayer thought it would be cool to use this scientific term because its scientific. HAHA! I'm such a snob. But I have to put into consideration the singer himself. It's John Mayer we are talking about. It's his rough yet soothing voice. It's my brother's twin! And I guess the melody makes up for the weird word choice.
Also, John Mayer songs have this way of sinking into you and making you like it soon after your first exposure. So I guess I like gravity. *Hah! Still is funny.*
